Duty Free Bulgaria
Visitors, irrespective of age, do not need to pay customs
duty on:
- 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars
- 250g of tobacco
- 1 litre of spirits and 2 litres of wine;
- 50g of perfume and 100g of eau de toilette;
- Reasonable amount of Gifts/Souvenirs (not for resale)
Prohibited goods include arms and ammunition; narcotics and pornography.
Items that must be declared: antiques, work of art, commercial samples, typewriters, cameras, printed matter and manuscripts, precious stones and metals.
Bulgaria has strict currency regulations. Visitors can enter
Bulgaria with amounts equivalent of Leva 8000 or less without declaring it to the custom officials. If you enter
Bulgaria with 8000 or more leva (or the equivalent), you should declare it at the customs.
Luggage carried by transitpassengers may be sealed at customs to avoid another check-up at the exit of customs.
