Ski legends will open the winter season in Bansko

Olympic and world champions will open the winter ski season in Bansko on the 12th December 2009.

Among the invitees are the Swiss Pirmin Zurbriggen, four times World Cup winner and Olympic champion from Calgary 88 and, the silver medalist from the same game from Sarajevo 84 Peter Mueller.

In the winter resort the best Slovenian skier Bojan Krizhay, winner of the Crystal Globe in the slalom for the season 1986/1987 is likely to arrive. Also expected to stand on the track is the best skier in the history of Bulgaria, Bulgarian, Petar Popangelov.

The skiers will compete in the parallel slalom.

In recent years, guests at the opening ceremony of the winter season in Bansko were Alberto Tomba, Rosie Mitermayer, Janica Kostelic, Ketil André Amod, Hani Wenzel and Andreas Wenzel.
