Bansko celebrated today

Bansko welcomed friends and guests at the opening of the ski season - 2010/2011.

The event also welcomed skiing greats like, Marc Girardelli, Peter Popangelov, Andreas Wenzel, Maria Wallizer, Joseph Straub, Leonard Stock, Luc Alphand and Michael von Grünigen.

All of them participated in a charity parallel slalom. The descent titled - BANSKO SKI LEGENDS RACE, was a charity race in support of the, children's sport in Bulgaria, which was launched in 2009.

After the deployment of the Banderishka lawn there was a concert which started at 17.30 with a torchlight of dancers and music. After that the winter resort was officially presented the award for, winter capital of the Balkans.

The evening ended with a fireworks and cooking show.
