Bansko meets all requirements of FIS World Cup

3, 5 million euro will cost the organization of the world cup alpine disciplines for women in Bansko. The world cup is scheduled for Feb. 28 to March 1, 2009. The total sum is already assured, said at a press conference today the President of the Bulgarian Ski Federation Tseko Minev. The State Agency for Youth and Sports provides about 50-60 percent of that amount. The rest of the money is provided by sponsors like Audi, Milka, FIB, M-Tel, Samsung, Balkan Holidays, Balkanstroy and others.

1 million USD have been already invested in improvements in Banderitsa ski run, which will hold the start of the World Cup. To secure the route a fence with a total width of 15 000 m. will be placed.

22 television cameras will be located along the ski run. 60 people will take care for the broadcasting, which will cost around 500 000 euros. The World Cup will be shown directly on 20 televisions, including BNT1, Evrosport, ORF, ZDF.

After the presentation of Bansko during the opening of the World Cup in Soelden in October, it became clear that during the competitions there will be more than 150 foreign journalists, and 60 bulgarian journalists.
