14.02.2009

Three avalanches fell in Bansko ski area, but outside the marked ski tracks. The snow mass fell in the Echmishte area, under the Platoto region. The place of the accident is outside of the ski tracks and slopes and it is clearly prohibited for skiing and snowboarding.
Fortunately, there were no injured. Several snowboarders were noted in the region shortly before the avalanches fell. Mountain rescue service in Bansko immediately searched the area with rescue dogs.
Because of fresh snow yesterday the avalanche risk is very high. The lifeguards warn once again not to ski outside the marked ski tracks. The danger of avalanches this morning is significant - 4th grade on the 5-level scale used for reporting from ski zone Bansko.
