Lindsey Vonn wins the Super Giant race on Sunday in Bansko
World Cup holder and this season's leader, Lindsey Vonn, with number 18, won the super giant race on 1st of March held in Bulgaria's famous winter resort Bansko.
Lindsey Vonn, who retained the World Cup crown on Saturday, finished with a time of 1:14:49 minutes time followed by the Swiss Fabienne Suter with 58 seconds behind Vonn. Third finished Tina Maze from Slovenia with 91 seconds behind Vonn.
This was the 7th success for the american, who extended her overall World Cup lead over Germany's Maria Riesch, to 391 points.
"It was a great race, " Vonn told BNT after the race. "I had a lot of fun. The ski run was very good. I like it here in Bansko where the atmosphere is great. I hope I will return to Bulgaria soon, " said the world cup leader.
Switzerland's Fabienne Suter continued her success in the World Cup in Bansko, racing to second place in the women's super-G contest on Sunday. The 24-year-old from central Switzerland won first place in the first downhill race in Bansko on Friday and scored at third place in the second downhill on Saturday.
Maria Kirkova, Bulgaria's only representative, finished 39th, 7.61 seconds behind the winner. Despite the slowest time, she won the applause of the audience for competing with the world's best. Kirkova is the first bulgarian athlete competing in the women's world cup events.
