Ski legends opened the new winter season in Bansko

Ski legends and lots of snow provided the hundreds of tourists and guests of Bansko with pleasant moments and delightful moods on the day of the official opening, which was officially opened by sports Minister, Svilen Neykov.

Before this, on the piste "Alberto Tomba" in the meadow area of Bunderishka a unique place in the parallel slalom is where the race between eight former dignitaries in Alpine skiing will take place- Marc Girardelli, Peter Popangelov, Pirmin Zurbriggen, Paul Acoli, Boyan Krizhay, Patrick Ortlib, Hubert and Peter Mueller Shtrolts . The race was won by five-time World Cup winner in all five alpine disciplines, Marc Girardelli.

Best Bulgarian skier of all time, Peter Popangelov dropped early in the race, having crashed in the descent against Slovenian, Bojan Krizhay.

New in the opening of the ski season in Bansko this time is the association with a noble cause, "helping the children ski in Bulgaria", informed BGNES.

In support of last years initiative "Learn to ski", the ski world dignitaries from the Bulgarian Ski Federation visiting Bansko joined in the charity race.

The festive mood will carry on through the evening. At 21:00pm in the open stage of Bansko, a show will be presented. The program will begin with the review of sportswear, performance with bonfires and later with fireworks.

After the show from 22:00pm the bar "Happy End" will open doors to all who wish to continue the party and want to become involved in the noble cause.

At 22:45pm a charity auction will be held, which will be hosted by the unique ski property granted by visiting ski legends. All money collected will be available to support the childrens program "Learn to ski".
