Blockade of the Greek border is detrimental to tourism in Bansko
The chairman of the Tourist Association in Bansko sent a letter to Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, which informs about the huge losses of tourism in Bansko. The blockade of the Greek farmers who are active during our tourist season has a detrimental affect on hotels and restaurants in Bansko.
Small and medium businesses are to count for losses of up to 480, 000 euros per day. Many Greek tourists who want to watch the European Cup races over the weekends can not come to Bansko.
The request is to assist and support businesses in the southwestern part of Bulgaria, and to seek that they redress that situation to the European funds in which the funds is intended for situations like this.
The letter says that the tourism business in Bansko can not be held hostage to the problems of the Greek farmers. The victims of such situations are the hotels, restaurants, tour operators, transport companies and retailers.
