Contestants from 8 Countries Competed for the Razlog Cup

339 contestants from 36 sports clubs from 8 countries competed in orienteering for the Razlog Cup. For the first time since the orienteering competitions for the Razlog Cup began, there was also international participation.

Orienteering

For 2 consecutive days, orienteering sports clubs from Bulgaria, Russia, Kazakhstan, Spain, Ukraine, Serbia, Norway and the US competed in the middle and sprint races.

The middle competition was held in Bachevo, and the sprint - in the central region of Razlog. The categories were men of ages 10-75 and women from 10-65.

The mayor of Razlog Municipality, engineer Krasimir Gerchev, and prof. Atanas Georgiev, chairman of the Bulgarian Orienteering Federation, congratulated all contestants and expressed their satisfaction from the results.

After the 2 days of competition, the club of Uzana, Gabrovo took the gold, the Dream Team from Sofia took the silver, and the bronze went to Variant 5 from Targovishte in the complex rankings.

Orienteering in Razlog

The American youth team, Junior Team USA, did exceptionally well, winning 2 gold and 2 silver medals for the men's, and 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals for the women's.

The Norwegian team Samnanger Norway finished with 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze. The club of the home team - Pirin Razlog won the gold and bronze for men 65 and older.

Stoyou Katrandjiev brought victory to the local club by ranking first in his category in the sprint and third in the middle distance race.

All participants took part in the closing ceremony, which was held at the Preobrajenie square in Razlog after the medals were handed out.

For the next 3 days, Razlog will host the orienteering competitions for the Bulgaria Cup.
