Razlog Kukeri will be Participating in the Festival in Stara Zagora

Razlog Kukeri will be participating in the upcoming masquerade festival games in Stara Zagora. Aside from them, 800 other Kukeri from Blagoevgrad, Pernik, Sofia, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Yambol, Sliven, Shumen and Razgrad will also be arriving in Stara Zagora.

The 17th annual edition of the masquerade festival games will take place on March 1st. As per tradition, Kukeri groups from all over Bulgaria will be participating.

For the first time, Kukeri from Razlog will be taking part in this year's games. An impressive group consisting of 96 Razlog Kukeri will be arriving, who will parade in goat skins and authentic masks.

The Stara Zagora festival will be of a competitive nature. The 5-member jury, with folklorist Georgi Garov as moderator, will rate the contests based on several categories - costume and dance, artistry, props, character and keeping true to tradition while in costume.
