G. Ikonomov: Bansko Will Be a Drama Theater this Week
With the words, "Bansko Will Be a Drama Theater this Week, " the mayor of the resort town, Georgi Ikonomov, marked the official opening to this summer's theatrical festivities. He proudly announced that the big names in Bulgarian theater will once again be guests on the Bansko stage, to the public's delight.
The theatrical evenings in the resort kicked off with Ray Kenny's comedy Bezumna Nosht. The play, organized by Valentin Tanev, was performed for the 23rd time on stage in Nikola Vaptsarov community center.
On Friday, festival-goers will have the opportunity to enjoy the magnificent acting of Vasil Mihailov and Stefka Yanorova in Bundershaft.
The summer theatrical program also includes the latest play by Boiko Illiev, The Rite of Spring, based on Chris Greenhalgh's work dedicated to the love affair between Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky.
