Duties of the mayor of Bansko municipality

• He manages all executive activities of the municipality;
• He coordinates the activities of the specialized executive authorities;
• He hires the heads and employees of the public administration office and frees them of charge, imposes disciplinary penalties;
• He is responsible for the protection of the public order, he issues obligatory written orders for the heads of the police services;
• He organizes the implementation of the municipal budget;
• He organizes the implementation of the long - term programs;
• He organizes the implementation of the Municipality Council’s decisions;
• He organizes the tasks according to the law and the acts of the Bulgarian President and Council of Ministers;
• He assigns the implementation of his tasks to the mayors of the municipalities, takes control over the expedience and legality in its implementation. He takes control over the legality of the acts and performance of mayors’ rights;
• He maintains relationships with all political parties, social organizations and other authorities of local government in the country and abroad;
• He organizes the protection of people from disasters and damages;
• He signs the approved town - plans by the municipality council, organizes its implementation and execution, approves its amendments;
• He represents the municipality in the court;
• He supports the municipality council;

Working experience

• Until 1981 - Employee in Chair Factory Bansko.
• From 1981 to 1990 - Employee in Bansko Construction company.
• From 1990 to 1999 - Manager in a private company.
• From 1999 to 2003 - Deputy mayor of Bansko municipality. He worked in the sphere of the finance, tourism, BKS and sports.
• From 2003 until now Alexander Kravarov is the mayor of Bansko.
